Peugeot’s new small van has a host of fresh innovations
Higher payload, a new BlueHDi 130 diesel engine and new 8-speed auto gearbox are all features of the all-new Partner, Peugeot’s latest van, launched in the UK at the end of 2018.
Maximum payload has been increased to 1,050kg and load area dimensions have been improved. New Euro 6.2 downsized petrol and diesel engines will join the range later this year, along with a Crew Van version. Current BlueHDi diesel power options include 75hp and 99hp 1.6-litre and a 130hp 1.5-litre engine.
Standard and Long body options are available, providing a load floor length of 1,817mm for Standard models and 2,167mm for Long versions. This can be extended on the passenger side to 3,090mm for Standard models and 3,440mm for Long models using the folding Multi-Flex seat and through-loading bulkhead. Payload goes from 667kg to 1,050kg, depending on model. Load volume ranges from 3.3m3 and 3.8m3 for Standard and Long models respectively and can be extended further with the Multi-Flex folding passenger seat.
S, Grip, Professional and Asphalt specification provide equipment levels matched to a range of operator requirements. New Partner is equipped with the Peugeot i-Cockpit® high mounted instruments and compact steering wheel. Other standard equipment includes: ESC electronic stability control with Hill Start Assist, remote central locking with deadlocks and separate locking for the cab, a full bulkhead, electric front windows, electrically adjustable door mirrors, DAB radio, Bluetooth®, USB and audio jack, Peugeot Connect SOS and Assistance, unglazed rear asymmetric doors, nearside sliding side door (twin sliding doors on Long variants), six tie-down hooks in the load area and an overhead storage shelf in the cab.
Grip models also feature the Peugeot Grip Control® system to improve traction in snow and on mud and sand. Equipment also includes Mud and Snow tyres and raised ground clearance. Professional variants are designed for users who tend to use their van as their office, with equipment such as air conditioning, rear parking sensors, cruise control with variable speed limiter, alarm, Multi-Flex folding passenger seat and load-through bulkhead and an 8” colour touchscreen which incorporates Mirrorlink®, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay™.
Asphalt specification is designed for users who cover longer distances and in addition to the Professional equipment, standard kit includes additional acoustic insulation, automatic windscreen wipers, 16- inch alloy wheels, Peugeot Connect navigation and Surround Rear Vision.
Surround Rear Vision uses rear and side cameras to provide a rear view during driving, displayed on a 5in monitor where an interior rear-view mirror would be fitted. Other innovations include Active Safety Brake, a Blind Spot Monitoring system and front, rear and side parking sensors.
